Which cities should you include?
Venice, Verona, Vicenza and Padua are among Veneto’s art cities. The official regional tourism portal also includes Treviso, Rovigo and Belluno in its cultural overview. For a first trip, select two or three places rather than trying to cover the entire region. Decide whether your priority is galleries, architecture or simply time to explore on foot.
A suggested five-night Veneto itinerary
This is an editorial planning example. Spend the first three nights in Venice or Padua, keeping arrival day local, then allocating one day to each city. Move to Verona for the final two nights, with one day for exploring and another shaped around your return journey. Confirm transport connections and access between the station and your hotel before fixing the order.
How to choose your hotel base
Compare the whole day rather than the room price alone. If most visits are in Venice, calculate the time and cost of commuting from another city. For a wider regional trip, station access may matter more. Check whether the final walk to a property is practical with luggage, especially if you expect to arrive late.
Book transport in the right order
The regional portal lists Venice Marco Polo, Verona Valerio Catullo and Treviso Antonio Canova airports. Start with your arrival and departure points, arrange the city sequence, then allocate hotel nights. Check current museum opening hours, booking requirements and official arrangements for visiting Venice for your dates before purchasing tickets.
Leave space between major visits
One main activity a day can be a useful starting point. Allow for meals, transport and time to settle in whenever you change hotels. A single base may be enough for a shorter break; two bases can suit a route with distinct city clusters. The better choice depends on the connections you actually intend to use.
How long should you stay in Veneto?
Five nights is the example used here, rather than a minimum requirement. For a shorter holiday, concentrate on two cities. If you want countryside or nature time as well, allocate separate days and check the additional transport rather than treating it as an automatic extra.
