Give one island enough time

A few nights on an island such as Naxos creates a different holiday from moving on every day. One base can help a first-time visitor protect time for exploration and rest. If adding another island, recognise the transfer day as part of the journey rather than a full sightseeing day.

Let diving arrangements come first

If you plan to dive, establish a suitable operator, meeting point and participation requirements before choosing a hotel around the activity. Ask directly about equipment, documentation and changes due to sea conditions. A sea-view room does not necessarily place you close to the departure point.

A suggested four-night sea break

Use arrival day to settle in and walk locally. A second day can focus on your chosen marine activity, with the next devoted to exploring on land. Keep the final full day open so weather or tiredness can be accommodated without rebuilding the entire trip.

Narrow the accommodation search

Select the island or coastal town you actually intend to visit and verify each property’s map location. Ferry journeys, airport transfers, dining and marine activities may have terms separate from the room booking, so account for them when comparing the overall holiday cost.
