Do not divide nights equally by default
An equal allocation is not automatically the right itinerary. Arrival and departure points, connections and the places you want to see may suggest another distribution. A visit to Praia Banana on Príncipe, for example, belongs in a section planned specifically for that island.
Balance coastal and inland days
Resting by the sea and visiting the interior or a former roça involve different transport arrangements. Decide whether you will return to one base each day or change accommodation. Answering that before choosing hotels can reduce repeated transfers and unnecessary luggage moves.
Leave space around connections
Check actual services and change arrangements before placing an inter-island journey directly before the international departure. Keep arrival and departure days light. An open day in a longer holiday can also reduce the need to rebuild the entire itinerary when plans change.
Research accommodation on the correct island
Verify the island and coastal area as well as the country listed for a property. Transfers, meals and excursions may have separate terms.
