Divide stages around your own pace
Another walker’s daily mileage may not suit your experience, luggage or interests. Shorter stages can leave more time for the surroundings while requiring additional nights. Decide what you want from the walk before selecting a ready-made timetable to follow.
Plan the Lindisfarne crossing separately
Tidal access means the final approach cannot be treated as an ordinary walking stage. Confirm crossing times and the conditions for your chosen route with the appropriate local authority for the actual day. A general travel article is not a crossing timetable, and accommodation reservations should follow that check rather than override it.
Organise luggage and recovery
If you want to separate a day bag from your main luggage, establish that the required transfer service is available. Early breakfast, drying wet equipment and expected arrival times may affect room choice. A rest day can be an intentional part of the itinerary rather than a sign that the route is going wrong.
Consider a base before or after the walk
These properties are not overnight solutions for every walking stage. Arrange access to the trail and your onward travel separately, then choose accommodation for each part of the trip.
