Separate the coast from the main journey

If you want time beside the sea, treat it as its own overnight stop. A Nice hotel can be useful for researching an opening base, but Nice is not a single accommodation solution for the entire route. Arrange vehicle collection and the day you leave the coast before building the later stages.

Match stops to the time they deserve

A photograph stop and a longer visit in Grasse or Castellane create different schedules. Pick one main stop for each stage and leave the others flexible. Calculate the extra time for side trips separately instead of assuming they fit automatically into the day.

Think in three adaptable stages

An opening section might move from the coast towards Grasse and Castellane. A second can focus on Sisteron and its surroundings, followed by a northern stage towards Grenoble. This is an outline, not a compulsory driving programme. Redistribute nights around road conditions, your preferred stops and comfortable driving days.

Book rooms alongside the vehicle plan

Parking, late arrival, luggage and returning a vehicle in another city may all affect the budget. Avoid making the last night dependent on a long drive immediately before a flight.
